The “From One Thing to Another” quest chain in Genshin Impact gathers several air-race challenges tied to the Flower Feather Clan. By finishing four sequential tasks, a player can earn around 120 primogems and other rewards. This guide explains how to start and complete each leg of the chain.

How to start the quest “From One Job to Another” in Genshin Impact

To begin the quest chain, a player must reach Adventure Rank 28 and finish the fifth chapter of the fifth act of the Archon quests, “The Flame Becomes One.” Once these conditions are met, they should teleport to the south of the Night Wind Lords tribe, use a nearby waypoint, and head to the training ground for the flying race. Given the heavy phlogiston gas, transforming into a Cucusaurus or bringing Chaska along is advisable. Fly the pyrocule through the phlogiston ring and the chain will begin automatically.

Complete the “From One Job to Another” task

After the flight through the ring, a young member of the Flower Feather Clan named Temach will approach and explain the flight route, promising good prizes for a successful run. In addition, the quest “Accidents are always sudden” begins immediately.

Incidents always come suddenly

To complete this quest, finish three time and speed tests along the flight path Temach prepared. Use the Kukusaurus, demonstrate flying skill, and claim the prize. Next, a detailed walkthrough of all stages of the quest will be provided.

Go to the training course

Guided by Temach’s hint, the trainee starts the test and heads to the flight path. Go to the map point: the phlogiston wind tunnel at the base of the cliff. Use the torch of souls at the mechanism, inhabit the Kukusaurus, and enter the hole. That will place the traveler at the mountain’s summit at the start of the route. A girl waving a flag stands opposite. Speak to her and when asked if one would like to try the training, answer “Let me try.” Then prepare for the time trial.

Try the training program

Begin by flying through the first ten rings marked with a blue quest marker. Don’t hesitate to use acceleration to beat the timer. After passing the first air ring, the second phase begins: break the phlogiston rings with the Kukusaurus dash in flight. Then proceed to the third stage: landing. To land, dive while holding the left mouse button or the Ctrl key.

Find Lamizana and get your reward

After successfully completing the flight, approach a young man named Lamizana standing on a wooden platform in the camp near a house. There he chats with a boy named Taruka. Once the trainer departs, a rich chest can be claimed and Taruka will give a quest prompt, beginning the next leg.

Do it within 24 hours

The boy Taruka suspects his sister’s boyfriend of foul play and wants to uncover clues about a strange camp and a suspicious man. Taruka directs the Traveler to enter the camp and investigate discreetly, all while staying out of sight of the Ictomisaurs.

Explore the area near the place Taruka mentioned

Teleport to the Archon Statue on the Cuahuacan Cliff and head to the map marker. Rest by the fire on a crate. Time shifts to 8:00–10:00 PM, and the empty camp across the way fills with ictomisaurs. To move unseen, assume the Cryo Saurian disguise.

Own an Ictomisaurus and infiltrate the interior of the camp

To complete the route without being spotted, the traveler must ride an Ictomisaurus. The path can vary, but the crucial trick is to watch for red guard beams—being seen forces a restart. If spotted, wait and hide until the indicator resets. The following steps help reach the destination quickly:

  • Cross the bridge and locate an Ictomisaurus by the coast.
  • Keep to the right, cross the river, and move to the mountain base near the tall blue trees.
  • Turn left toward the rectangular ledge. Use the Saurian’s jump to slip past the guards.
  • When in the blind spot, plan the next move. Wait for the coast to clear and glide toward the Saurier on the fence, then enter.
  • Without jumping off the fence, trigger a triangular wall pattern guarded by two Ictomisaurus cubs, which will grant passage. Fly over their heads using a boosted jump. Upon entering, a dialogue begins automatically.

Discreetly eavesdrop on a secret conversation

Inside the secret camp, listen to what the organizers are planning. The dialogue reveals nothing concrete, but hints at something happening during the air races. A girl named Quila interrupts the scene. Any option chosen in the conversation has no effect. Afterwards, the Traveler, Paimon, and their Tepetlisaurus companion can leave the camp and report findings to Taruka.

Return to Taruka and report the results

After the observation, the traveler heads back to the airstrip and Taruka is informed of the discoveries. This leads to an invitation to join the races and an opportunity to learn more about the situation.

Air races and alibis

To start this leg, the traveler heads to the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. An automatic dialogue with Paimon begins, and an official invitation to the air race is issued. The quest then appears in the quest log.

Go to the starting point of the air races

After receiving the invitation, travel to the Flower Feather Clan and approach the marked spot near the tribe’s southern edge. Speak with a girl named Liva and choose “Let’s get started” to begin the timed challenge.

Complete all air racing challenges

To finish the flight race, several tasks must be completed, including flying through and breaking phlogiston rings.

  • First, destroy the initial three targets with a quick Kukusaurus dash while in fast flight, then land on the balloon to unlock the next phase.

Next, fly through all phlogiston rings as fast as possible and land on the ball again. In the final stage, dive to the ground, pass through all the rings, and hold the left mouse button. After crossing the finish line, Taruka might be missing in the stands, prompting the Traveler to search for him.

Find Taruka

If the path is followed from the same point, Lamizana is seen defending against Ictomisaurs. Help him and defeat the attacking saurians. It is revealed that Taruka has been kidnapped and suspicion falls on the Traveler. After escaping pursuers, the search for Taruka continues.

Return to the scene

Return along the route attacked by Saurians with the Tepetlisaurus companion; look for a clue. Solving this completes the quest.

Goodbye, last Saurian cookies

In the final chapter of the chain, the Traveler and Paimon must locate Taruka, clear suspicions of his kidnapping, and uncover the truth behind the airborne races.

Own an Ictomisaurus and track down the strange smell

To collect clues, the Traveler must ride a Saurian and use its senses. This allows locating the Torch of Souls at the same location. Once settled, use elemental detection to follow a strange scent. If a wooden staircase is spotted, jump higher.

Disguise yourself and follow the Ictomisaurus patrol to infiltrate the camp

To rescue Taruka, the traveler again blends with the Ictomisaurus patrols. The steps below help stay unseen:

  • Duck into the bushes by the cliff and glide to the stone recess on the far side. This is a blind spot where plans can be laid.
  • Stay close to the rock and advance. Wait for the three Ictomisaurs to approach the closed gate and fly over them, or remain in formation behind them.

Inside the cave, Taruka’s Cucusaurus Oberon awaits. After leaving, confront the opponents. Interact with Quila and defeat her Saurian Furry. The path chosen may influence events, but the Traveler’s team triumphs in the end.

Go back to the flying school

After the confrontation, return to the place where the air races take place. Taruka remains unfound, but a talk with the returned boy and his family marks the end of the quest.
