The Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion changes the game by putting players in the shoes of a specialized government operative. As the story unfolds, V is faced with decisions about what is right and just. The DLC features four endings, with a fifth unlocking when you finish the entire game. This guide walks through how to achieve each one, with careful notes on how choices shape the outcome.

What do endings depend on?
In truth, the ending hinges on two pivotal moments. The first arrives during the Judgment Day mission, when V and Alex maneuver as if they were French twins and interact with the Colonel. As Jay advances, V accompanies her to the lab to extract the matrix. This is the moment to save if you want to study all endings. Before the mission, Reed offers V an icebreaker that can help neutralize Jay. In the lab you face a choice: download it or escape with the hacker.
Here you determine the last missions, but the road to the finale isn’t over. Just before the ending, there’s another chance to align with Reed or Jay, regardless of the lab choice. An autosave makes it easy to explore all endings and pick the ones you prefer.
How to get the King of Wands ending
When the option appears, tell Jay in the lab, “I share your opinion,” and skip loading the icebreaker. Alex will kill the colonel, and you and the hacker will push through the stadium amid waves of enemies.
As a result, Jay will invite you to help her reach the moon via the spaceport. As noted in the walkthrough, completing the fixer quest Interregnum helps determine who governs Dog City. Only then will Reed threaten you and Jay share information about the meeting.
Finish the quest Fading Star until you board the train with Jay to the shuttle. There you will encounter the latest plot twist that informs your final choice. Near the shuttle, Reed appears. Put Jay on the ground and avoid aggressive moves, but do not pick any option that hands the hacker over to the spy.
The remaining choices reduce to two: hand over the hacker to authorities or send her to the moon. To unlock King of Wands, the player opposes Reed. Time slows, and quick reflexes are needed to shoot the spy. Reed dies, Jay safeguards the medicine, and Alex survives. Later, Alex will call, and the hacker’s message will indicate the treatment was successful.
How to get the King of Swords ending
In this ending, the player also backs Jay in the laboratory, but on the spaceport train, they switch sides to Reed. Summon him to the carriage or carry the girl to meet the spy at the shuttle.
Agree to hand Reed Jay, then decide what to do with the medicine. If you take the medicine, a completely new ending unfolds later in the game. If you stop taking it and finish the side quest, the current arc remains intact.
How to reach the end of the tower
This ending isn’t standalone and depends on either the King of Swords or King of Pentacles endings. If you give Jay to Reed and take the medicine for yourself, the spy promises future contact. In game time, this is roughly 10–15 days later.
Meet the man at a gas station or sports field and agree on where the doctor’s bus will pick you up. This choice trims away a large portion of the main game and accelerates you toward the point of no return. Johnny dislikes the sudden shift in attitude toward death. Rocker cautions against calling Reed. This is the last chance to change your mind. If you press forward, V undergoes surgery, but the story’s ending won’t be a happy one.
How to get the King of Cups ending
In the lab, try loading an icebreaker into Jay. It won’t work and will trigger a cyberpsychosis attack on the girl. Alex is killed by the Colonel, and V makes his way through the stadium alone. At the end of the journey you might forget to remove your gear from the safe. Then a confrontation with Kurt becomes inevitable.
After dealing with the soldiers, follow Reed and watch as Jay is captured by special police units. Next you must craft a plan to stop the convoy carrying the prisoner. Things don’t go as planned and Jay breaks free. V chases her alone and ends up in an abandoned lab. There, the Black Barrier AIs gradually take control of the hacker, who fights to keep V from progressing and then activates a spider robot that cannot be defeated. A hide-and-seek sequence follows reminiscent of the game Alien: Isolation.
During this chase, V uncovers a massive core where Jay hides, leading to a prolonged sequence to breach it. This ending reveals more of Jay’s past. If the path is clear, V finds the girl barely alive but conscious. She asks to be killed, presenting a second choice between Jay and Reed. Compliance with the netrunner’s request leads to Reed blaming V and the president refusing to help with treatment.
How to get the King of Pentacles ending
This ending closely mirrors the Cup/Cups arc with one key difference: V refuses to kill Jay. Reed approves the choice and believes the girl will receive help. President Myers also backs this action. She not only offers treatment but also presents V with a medal (which can be declined). From this ending, players can reach the game’s Tower finale if they also approve the operation to remove the chip.
