How to start the quest in the Temple of the Open Hand
Following the main plot, the traveler reaches the third act and heads for the village of Rivington. From the rune stone, the road runs north. The temple sits to the left of the South Gate at a crossroads, and its location is marked on the map.
Enter the building, proceed straight, and speak with Sister Giannis. She will request an investigation into the murders tied to Lorgan’s father.
There are several ways to deduce the killer. A few optional actions can yield more crime details:
- Speak with Sister Rosa the Penitent. She sits in the room to Giannis’s left;
- Talk to Father Lorgan’s corpse. The guide explains how communication with corpses works in this game;
- Take Lorgan’s journal. It’s in the west wing, inside a chest next to the central bed. A skill check reveals a hidden page;
- Deal with the dead Brilgor buried in the temple’s cemetery. A shovel is needed to exhume the body.
Alternatively, head directly to the kitchen to the right of where Sister Giannis stands.
Open the floor hatch and descend into the crypt.
Turn right, push through the doors, and press the plates with decals. They pop up, and the hidden buttons behind them reveal a concealed passage in the wall.
Advance until three assassins appear. Their dialogue mentions Freygo’s boarding house, a clue worth noting. Search their bodies for a key that will be needed later.
Watch the blood trail’s hollow. There lies an immobilizer dagger that can paralyze a victim and help explain the murders’ method.
Then proceed to an area outside the temple gates. If the scene is blocked, continue with the main story for a while, then return to Freigo’s room.
Before that, meet Valeria, the investigator at the Laska Sharess brothel. Speak with her and state that an investigation is underway.
Next, go to Fraigo’s lodging, turn right, and head to the second floor.
Use the ladder beside the beds to climb higher.
To the right, a closet awaits. Open it with the previously found key.
Inside rests a secret chamber. Here it’s crucial to locate the Bloody Parchment and the List of Victims.
How to complete the murder investigation at the Temple of the Open Hand
Return to Valeria and present the gathered evidence to the accused girl. This completes the initial investigation. Beyond the standard reward, a special pass is granted, opening access through various outposts.
