Rosneft will showcase the most significant IT initiatives from its subsidiaries at the Rossiya exhibition and forum. The company’s press service confirmed that a dedicated series of days focusing on information technology would run from December 7 through December 10, inside Rosneft’s pavilion. These thematic days underline the group’s commitment to digitizing operations and leveraging cutting-edge technologies across its activities, from exploration to logistics and refining processes.

On December 7, Rosneft will highlight a lineup of projects spearheaded by its subsidiary teams in information technology. Appointed representatives from Rosneft and its corporate family will participate, stepping into a space designed to illuminate practical IT outcomes. Among the showcased features will be Rosneft’s internal IT integrator Sibintek presenting a visually rich infographic 3D table, a suite of thematic virtual reality simulators, and a realistic mock-up of a mobile communications hub paired with a cellular base station. These demonstrations aim to give visitors a tangible sense of how digital tools can optimize field operations, asset management, and emergency readiness, while also offering a glimpse into future field deployment concepts.

The event will include an engaging interactive segment titled “Challenge the Neural Network.” Visitors can test their intuition against the company’s own RN-Neural Networks simulator, which invites participants to select well locations on a field map for maximum oil production. The activity blends education with a competitive edge, and those who perform well will receive memorable, if perhaps unexpected, gifts as a token of the day’s learning and innovation.

December 8 marks Rosneft IT Day at the Ministry of Energy pavilion as well, culminating in the final of Rosneft’s IT competition marathon. Attendees will include participants from large corporations, universities, and research institutes who were winners of the 2023 IT Marathon. Throughout the hackathon, teams will present digital and robotic solutions designed to support Rosneft’s ongoing innovative projects, spanning areas such as data analytics, predictive maintenance, automation, and process optimization. The goal is to illustrate how collaboration between industry and academia accelerates practical, scalable solutions for the energy sector.

Sibintek will also host the CTF-2023 information security competition on Rosneft’s website on December 9, inviting pavilion visitors to explore foundational digital defense concepts in an accessible, entertaining format. Participants will learn essential best practices for protecting sensitive data, understand common attack patterns, and practice safe, responsible handling of information in a controlled environment. The event promises prizes and gifts that reflect the value of cybersecurity knowledge in today’s technology-driven landscape.

On the final day of the program, December 10, Rosneft experts will introduce attendees to a homegrown development: robotic systems designed for diagnosing oil refineries. The demonstrations will showcase how robotics and automated diagnostics can reduce downtime, improve safety, and enhance the precision of maintenance workflows. As with prior days, visitors can expect tests and gifts, creating an interactive and informative finish to the pavilion’s IT showcase.

Rosneft emphasizes that digitalization across all areas of its business is a cornerstone of the Rosneft-2030 strategy. The company positions technology not as a luxury but as a core driver of efficiency, resilience, and growth, enabling better decision making, faster responses to market changes, and safer, more reliable operations across its global footprint.

The Rossiya international exhibition and forum will continue at the VDNKh grounds through April 12, 2024. Rosneft’s pavilion is housed in a structure designed to reflect contemporary innovation and energy industry heritage. Its digital exhibits and interactive displays are intended to communicate the company’s history, prospects, scientific advances, and social initiatives in a clear, engaging way for visitors who come from Canada, the United States, and beyond. The presentation plan is crafted to translate complex technology concepts into accessible experiences that spark curiosity and foster collaboration among industry professionals, researchers, and students alike.
