The world of Faerûn available to explore Baldur’s Gate 3 is extremely extensive and contains many secrets: rare weapons and equipment, potential quests and various points of interest. If you want to find a specific task or item or just get as much content as possible, we recommend using the interactive map. In this manual we tell you where to find it and how to use it.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Guides
In total, the game world can be divided into three huge locations: one for each act. All maps contain a large number of points of interest, as well as hidden locations, which can only be reached if certain conditions are met. On interactive maps you will find many useful markers: the location of chests, dungeon entrances, shops, side missions, rare enemies and unique items.

Note that Baldur’s Gate 3 is a big game full of thousands of secrets. Therefore, despite all the efforts of enthusiasts, so far not all items and quests have their own characteristics. If you didn’t find the object you want, try to visit it again later or find what you need on the second map, which we will also cover.
Where to find the interactive map of Baldur’s Gate 3
We found two services that provide players with interactive maps. In addition to visual differences, the Mapgenie Map has a more minimalistic style, while the Gamemaps map labels are more different from each other.
After clicking on the first link, a map of Darkwood will open in front of you. You can switch between locations using the labeling on the panel on the left. Here is a list of available locations:
On the site at the second link you can choose one of the three parts of the game:
- If you are in Wilderness, select the Act 1 – Wilderness tab;
- The second act begins after you travel to the Shadowcursed Lands;
- The third – after hitting Baldur’s Gate;
- Wilderness [OLD] is an old map that players created during the project’s early access period.
We recommend that you open both links and choose the map you like best.
How to use the interactive map
If you plan to use one of the interactive maps regularly, we recommend that you register. Allows you to mark certain tags as ‘Found’. This way you can mark tasks or points of interest that have already been completed so that you are not distracted by them.

The general principle of card management is the same. In the left panel you will find the Show All and Hide All buttons. Click the “Hide All” button to avoid filling the card with unnecessary information. Then select the desired category to show only the items that belong to it. Below we have left the translation of all the categories that can be found on the sources.

The Map Genie service not only allows you to mark the necessary categories, but also gives a description to some tags. For example, you can mark unique accessories on the map and then review the tags after seeing each item’s description. Thus, by researching a number of categories, you can find many unique items for your team and discover their characteristics.

You can also find out the name of an object or topic and write it down to use the search. Just enter the name of the term you’re interested in in the search box and the service will return a list of tags containing the keyword. In the same way you can determine where the items for tasks are located.

Many markers on the map have a fairly detailed description. You can find out not only the characteristics of the item, but also tips on how to obtain it, as well as tips on how to complete some quests. By logging into the site you can put your own markers on the map.
Of course, an interactive map can somewhat spoil the impression of exploring Faerûn. But still, sometimes it is better to get timely help than to part with a lot of content. In this article, we have left some tips that will help you get more fun out of the game.
