Using fast travel Starfield helps you get to places you’ve already visited in different star systems. Once you feel comfortable, you can move around the surface of the planet as well as between planets and even galaxies.

Fast travel in Starfield is amazingly flexible and has just two general rules to keep in mind:
- They can only be made to planets and systems you’ve already visited, otherwise you’ll have to use normal flight or visit the orbit of a new planet first;
- If you are overloaded, you will not be able to travel quickly on foot. But you can if you’re on a ship.
How to fast travel with the Starmap in Starfield
Star Map (Starmap) helps to navigate the terrain and move quickly, and to use it it is not necessary to be on or near the ship. Enough to open star mapby pressing the key “M”or select the appropriate item from the drawing menu. Use one of the following methods to quickly navigate through them star mapdepending on where you want to go.
Remark: You don’t have to be on the ship. When you use either method, your ship will automatically move with you.
How to quickly travel to another part of the planet where you are currently located

Open star mapto see the current planet. Choose a place on the planet, even if you haven’t been there yet. As a landing site you can choose almost any place, as long as it is suitable for the ship. For example, parking in the middle of the ocean will not work. Then press “Travel” (Travel) while holding the button “X”to quickly go to the selected location.
How to quickly travel to another planet in the same galaxy

After opening star mappress back (button Esc or Tab) to switch to planetary view and see the entire galaxy you are currently in. In this mode you can select a planet you have already visited and set a landing spot. Confirm your choice by pressing and holding the button “X”. However, if you are visiting the selected planet for the first time, you must first plot a course for its orbit. After arriving in the planet’s orbit, you can select a landing site using star map.
How to fast travel to a planet in another galaxy

After opening star mapdouble click Back (button Esc or Tab) to open the galaxy view. Select the star system you want, then a planet and a place you’ve already visited. Then just hold down the button “X”to travel quickly between galaxies. While this is technically considered a gravity jump, you don’t have to go all the way and just quickly travel to your destination. However, to travel to a system or planet you haven’t been to before, you’ll need to do a full gravity jump first.
How to navigate quickly with the scanner in Starfield

While exploring the surface of a planet or satellites, you can quickly move to a place you’ve already visited and see on your scanner. To do this, activate the scanner with the key Flook at the icon of the place you want to go to and then press the button “E”. You can also call up a map of the area by pressing “M”to manually select a location with the cursor.
When traveling fast with a scanner or terrain map, your ship will not move with you, but you can easily return to it using one of these methods. View your ship’s icon through the scanner, or simply open the map of the area and click “E”to return immediately. Please note that such moves are not available if you are overloaded.
