IN Baldur’s Gate 3, the player has the right to choose exactly how he will go through this or that quest. Some will prefer to destroy the door and kill all ill-wishers to get the item needed for the quest. And others will take advantage of secrecy: they will quietly open the door and steal what they need. But the latter option requires special tools. Today we tell you where to find and buy sapper and thief tools in the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Guides

How to find the tools of thieves and sappers in the open world of Baldur’s Gate 3

As you progress through Baldur’s Gate 3, you will encounter a huge amount of loot. Sometimes players simply don’t have enough space to transport everything and sell it to the nearest merchant. However, thieves and sappers are much rarer than gray weapons or armor.

We managed to find them when examining various boxes, and sometimes we pick them up from corpses. Anyway, if you inspect every nook and cranny and loot all the corpses of enemies, the need to find resources for the second plot act will quickly disappear.

But it also happened that in order to move forward with the search, it was necessary to open the door here and now, but, alas, there were no tools. In this case, merchants scattered in different regions will help in all actions of the game. Below we have described the location of some of them.

All merchant thieves and sappers in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3

In the first act you will meet a large number of merchants. Some will be neutral, others hostile. Of course, it all depends on your playstyle. For example, we did not hold a ceremony with anyone – anyone who looked crooked just died. But the disadvantage of this way of passing is that, having killed the merchants and key figures, you will not be able to buy the necessary items until you find the next “mobile shops”. So before you start the carnage, we recommend that you purchase lock picks, weapons and other things that you need for a comfortable game.

Arron (Emerald Grove)

According to the plot, you will find yourself in the Emerald Grove. Immediately after the fight with the goblins at the gates of the city, go a little further along the road to the nearest cave. On the right you will see a stone plinth where Arron is waiting for you. Unfortunately we already have it.

Brehm (Zentarim Shrine)

Go to Waukeen’s Refuge and run to the courtyard. To the right of the main door you will see a fire. Turn left into a small arch. After resting against the stables, turn right and inspect the wooden box passageway. Break them and enter.

In the barn you will see a man named Salazon. You will have to pass a few checks, after which you can go to the basement and find a closet here. Open it to go to the hideout.

Immediately after appearing at a new location, you will have to go through one of the checks again. If you do not like the locals, the battle will begin and you will not be able to trade with Brem.

Roa Moonlight (Broken Shrine)

You can reach the Broken Sanctuary location through the Goblin Camp. When you have solved all additional questions and go on assignment to the Lunar Towers, you will definitely have a look here.

For example, we have not been able to negotiate with the local population, which means that Roa Moonlight cannot sell anything anymore.

Derrith Bonecloak (Deepholm – myconid colony)

You will arrive directly at this location after solving the lunar circles puzzle. If you end up in a myconid colony, be sure to talk to Derrit. You can not only buy useful tools from her, but also undertake the quest “Find a mushroom picker”. By the way, we already talked about it in this guide.

In addition to thieves and sappers, Derrit also offers a wide variety of different items and ingredients.

Remark: Of course, this is not a complete list of suppliers in the first company where you can buy tools. We will be sure to update the guide soon.

All merchant thieves and sappers in Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3

Unlike in the first act, when you reach the Moon Towers you can meet only a few merchants. But it’s worth noting that you can return to previous locations at any time if you’ve activated Runic Circles. It is enough to open the card and select the desired circle to get to the trader from the previous operation.

Roa Moonlight (Moon Towers)

Roa Moonlight is waiting for you in the Moon Towers, provided you haven’t killed her before. If you follow in our footsteps, it will be impossible to buy items here. The towers also have a second merchant, Arai Oblodra, but her supply of items is missing.

Bark Route (Last Light Tavern)

Once here, according to the plot, you will meet a leprechaun who will ask you to rescue his relative Vulbren from prison in the Lunar Towers. We’ve previously described how to rescue Vulbren and the Tieflings.

Go to the tavern if it is still intact. You will find Barka on the first floor of the building. In contrast to other traders, the range is rather modest. You can only buy one unit of the items you want.

All merchant thieves and sappers in Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3

We’re still studying the last act of this game, so we’ve put together a short list of vendors for you to find. A little later we will definitely update this material:

  • Glinda Altauer: She can sell you four sets of thieves and sappers tools. You can find the girl in front of the second checkpoint on the southern part of Wyrm’s Crossing at the coordinates (X:0, Y:142);
  • Roa Moonlight: You will find her during Jahira’s search for companions after the robbery. Again, if you lost the girl in the first or second act, miss this opportunity;
  • Sticky Dondo: It is located in the town hall in the sewers at coordinates (X:62, Y:-100). Once inside, look around and find the merchant; he’s the only one here.

At the moment, these are all the merchants of special resources that we managed to find in the vastness of Baldur’s Gate 3. The game is very large, so it is possible that we will be able to find even more such characters during repeated playthroughs. If you run into any issues or notice an inaccuracy, please write in the comments. We always try to help the readers as best we can.
