How to start the Ancient Colors quest chain in Genshin Impact
Teleport to the Hydro Archon statue in the Beryl region. In front of a small body of water you will see several Hermits and a creature called Mamer. A choice will appear in the dialogue – you can start a fight with people or ask them to calm down. Looking ahead, you find out moments later that they just wanted to buy the painting from the Mamers to avoid a fight.
Atk 1: Seafoam and Carmine Brush – Illusion Paints
Follow the marker to the pond and dive down. Here you will find a spacious cave, which is divided into several galleries and even levels. Along the way you can solve a small puzzle with a Miraculous Floating Orb. Keep in mind that the water flow is constantly changing: first it repels the ball, then it attracts it. You must borrow the skills of a xenochrome armored crab hovering nearby. If the water stream repels the ball, do nothing. As soon as he starts pulling on him, activate the shield and block the power. Step aside when the direction of the current changes.
You get as a reward great chestwho waits for you in the cave. Now run after the fairyregular chest) deep into the cave and activate the underground teleporter.
Behind the teleporter you will also encounter Prisms in Elinas I – strange crystals scattered around Fontaine. Find one active crystal and use a basic attack to destroy the required stones using an energy stream or transfer energy to other crystals.
Finally, in the same ad you can find precious chest. To open it, you need to fight some monsters – nothing complicated.
Go to Merusi village
Return to the teleporter and follow the marker. Along the way you can collect resources and regular chest. As soon as you meet Kosynzyanu, talk to her and go to the second teleporter in this area. Mamer will wait for you here.
In his house, Mamer will introduce you to a mechanical dog, after which the task will be updated.
Walk nearby
To complete this part of the quest, you’ll need to inspect several items in Mamer’s house, including the dog:
- Box;
- Canvas;
- Seymour;
- Mamer’s room;
- Bottle.
Go to the paint harvest
Now you need to go deep into the cave. Don’t miss it on the way time trial: Four explosive barrels must be destroyed. We recommend using any archer. As a reward, you don’t even get a rich man, but regular chest.
Use Ore Prism Resonance
After reaching the marked area, use the charged crystals to destroy the stones marked with the marker. If the gem is not active, charge it with an adjacent crystal.
After destroying all the bricks you will gain access to hydro granules, which in turn will create the Hydro core. Use it on the Hydro Crystals next to the wrecked ship to inspect rich chest.
Do not rush to leave the adit. If you climb up the hill, you can pick up hydroculusand below two rich chests. You can open them after destroying all enemies in this area.
It will also be helpful to let the fairy out of the cage and take it to the counter (regular chest). When you’re done, talk to Mamer and teleport to the “Very Warm Place”.
Adjust the position of the prism to resonate with the ore
You will encounter crystals again, which can be moved this time. Since the released energy flies strictly along a certain trajectory, it is worth taking into account not only the fact of the direct view of the object, but also its height. Place the first crystal on a small stone and the second on a mound near the wall.
After doing this, return to Mamer’s house. You meet the Hermits again, who wanted to buy a painting from her. If you stopped them the first time, they will now be hostile – defeat the enemies.
This task will be completed, but the next quest will begin and you will unlock the achievement “Just a dog…” In chapter “Wonders of the world”.
Act 2: It’s going to rain
After talking to Mamer, you will receive a new task. Go to the village. First go up the stairs and talk to Serene. So you get second detail (Mamer will give you the first one).
When you press the “V” button, you will see a message: “Help the melusins deal with problems and explore the environment to collect strange details”. In the village you need to find the girl near the water.
She will tell you about a mysterious book hidden in one of the dungeon ditches.
Secrets of the “Book of Revelation”
Run to the first teleporter you activated at this location and inspect the pond. Inside, a passage appears that leads you to a mysterious book.
How to find the pages of a book
Finding the necessary pages is very easy, because they are marked on the world map. In the northern part of the map you have to fight several waves of enemies and protect the crystals, and in the southern part you have to deal with only one group of monsters led by an elite enemy.
Go back and place the received pages in the book of Revelation. You unlock access to another level of the cave.
Find the Canotile
It is worth noting that you can get to this location luxury box. To do this, you need to pass four tests scattered around the map and bring the same number of fairies to the chest. For more information on how to open it, we described in the thematic guide.
If you have already unlocked the chest, you can return to the quest. To do this, go to the tower using teleports and go to the top floor. As you approach the table, a cutscene begins. Use a few more teleports and battle a group of elite monsters.
Remark: If you couldn’t get the chest now, then you have the right to do it later. It is enough to return to the book and select the item “Start with Meditation”.
Go to the specified location
Look for Mamer at your house and go to the first teleport. A passage will appear to its left – inspect regular chest and follow the marker. The large adit contains the last available teleport in this cave. After activating it, prepare to fight the Hounds of the Rupture.
We recommend using crystals to get more than one rich chests. Some crystals will need to be moved higher.
When you have collected all available treasures, jump to the water.
Find the melusina that can’t get out
In the flooded part of the cave you can see algae in which the melusin is trapped. To pull it out, you need to stand on the left side and aim at two moving points. Wait for them to line up and then fire the xenochrome stingray.
Immediately after, cut the bottom of the dome.
Go to the specified location
Activate on the go process – You have to collect 10 Hydro particles in 30 seconds. You get as a reward rich chest.
The next big location also has some seaweed. If you lose them, you can investigate the next one rich chest.
After the cutscene, inspect the flooded settlement and get the Hydrocool. Now you can go to the “Desolate Place”, where a group of Rupture Hounds is waiting for you.
Release another stone melusine and kill all enemies – the mercenaries will be on your side in this battle.
Act 3: Blue Fear of the Heart and Moon – Paintings. To dream. mechanical dog
When control passes to you, try to teleport to the “Very Warm Place”, but nothing will work. Dive underwater and enter the current.
Turn right at the fork. If you turn left you will come out of the cave and find yourself somewhere between the Elton Depression and Chemin de Lespore.
This will take you to the final boss of this quest chain. Jacob is not a very strong opponent, besides, a mechanical dog will help you. Defeat him and all the Hounds of the Rupture to reach a new location.
Use prism and ore resonance
As usual, use active crystals to charge other crystals and destroy bricks. After doing this, talk to Elinas and Mamer. Soon the quest will be completed and you will get the achievement “Paintings. Dreams. Mechanical Dog” In chapter “Fontaine: Dance of the Wells of the White Dews I”.
