The Skyline Benidorm Film Festival returns for its eighth edition
The Skyline Benidorm Film Festival is preparing for its eighth edition, with a week of film-focused events scheduled from April 13 to April 20, 2024. Writers are invited to submit entries to the Short Film Script Competition, with the submission window open through January 20, 2024, inviting compact, impactful storytelling that fits within a short format.
“Sushi” earns three accolades at the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival
Entries to the festival can be any fiction, animation, or documentary short film script written in either Spanish or Valencian. The theme remains flexible, accommodating both original works and literary adaptations. Scripts must be no longer than 20 pages, including the cover page, printed in Courier 12-point font. Filming may not have begun before the festival starts in 2024.
Participants retain full copyright ownership of their submitted works. This year’s top prize for the best short film script has been increased to 1,500 euros, underscoring the festival’s commitment to recognizing exceptional craft in concise storytelling.
Prize
The festival awards a total prize of 1,500 euros plus a commemorative trophy for the best short film script. The prize is paid by bank transfer to the winner’s registered individual or legal entity, following verification of registration details and applicable tax withholdings under prevailing laws.
Organizers say that all trophies and awards will be presented to the winners or their representatives at the final gala. If any trophies are not collected during the festival, transport costs are the responsibility of the recipient. The skyline Benidorm Film Festival logo and the 2024 screenplay competition awards should be included in the end credits of the winning short film in future productions, where appropriate, to acknowledge the festival’s role. Inscription
The competition welcomes screenwriters from around the world to participate. The entry fee is 13 euros, with up to three works allowed per author. If more than one work is submitted, the fee for the second entry is 10 euros and for the third entry 8 euros.
