Artem Mikoyan and Praskovya Tkachenko, offspring connected to Stas Namin, the founder of rock groups Gorky Park and Flowers, were reported murdered in Kryukovo village, Istra district, according to a Telegram channel cited by Shot. The report states that the incident occurred on October 18 around 21:00 Moscow time.
Police information describes that an 85-year-old woman died from a knife wound to the chest, while her 30-year-old grandchild sustained multiple stab wounds. The scene reportedly showed no signs of a struggle and objects remained in their places.
According to the Telegram channel plinth, a criminal case was opened by the Moscow Region Investigative Committee on the charge of killing two or more people at the scene. Investigators claimed that knives, hammers, and clothing items were recovered, and forensic and molecular genetic analyses were ordered.
Relatives of the victims were detained on suspicion of the crime, as announced by the Investigative Committee.
Shot asserted that Roman Mikoyan, the stepson of Stas Namin and Artem Mikoyan’s stepbrother, was taken into custody on suspicion of murder. The channel also claimed that he appeared not himself at the time of the crime and did not grasp what was happening at that moment. He is undergoing interrogation and undergoing drug testing. It was noted that he contacted emergency services after the incident.
The case is under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Istra.
“I’ve always been an asshole.”
Stas Namin spoke to socialbites.ca about the tragedy, describing it as a terrible event. He clarified that Roman is the son of his ex-wife Galina from a previous marriage and expressed strong personal disapproval, saying he had not been in contact with Roman for many years, deeming him a difficult and unworthy person. Namin emphasized that Roman was never a relative in his view.
Stas Namin is a Soviet and Russian musician, composer, and producer, known for forming the rock bands Tsvety and Gorky Park. He also founded the first independent production center in the USSR, SNC, and led groups such as Splin, Kalinov Most, among others.
Roman Mikoyan was previously convicted and received two years of probation for a fatal incident during the New Year holidays in 2007. Reports indicate that after a night of drinking, he drove and struck a 42-year-old mathematics teacher at a pedestrian crossing in Moscow, resulting in a fatality at the scene.
Roman has worked as a director of development for Skyeer, a company focused on analytics using drone photography data. In 2020, he was assaulted on Vozdvizhenka Street in Moscow during a confrontation that occurred early in the morning.
Possible motive
The Telegram channel 112 suggested a version in which the motive involved a dispute over selling a house. The channel alleged that Roman first stabbed his grandmother, then called his brother. Upon arrival, the argument continued and Roman stabbed his relative several times, with Artem dying at the scene. Another outlet claimed that a man attacked his brother in the street.
REN TV reported that Roman struck his grandmother with a head injury and stabbed her chest four times, then stabbed his brother at least eleven times in the chest, back, and arms in the courtyard. During interrogation, the detainee reportedly said the killings were linked to drug use and admitted not remembering the exact moment of the crime. Investigators noted that he was under the influence of prohibited substances at the time of the incident and that he did not recall the events clearly.
