Fundación Mediterráneo invites CMdanza Company to conclude the Mediterranean Dance cycle with a remarkable performance at the headquarters. The flamenco ballet La zapatera prodigiosa, inspired by the work of Federico García Lorca, is scheduled for 20:00 on Saturday at the Alicante headquarters (Avda. Dr. Gadea, 1).

A production described as a fantastic shoemaker blends flamenco, folk elements, and poetic nuances to tell a tale of a young woman who resents the gossip surrounding her marriage and must face a life with an older husband who has left her. The Shoemaker encounters the world around him with resilience, but the entrance of a mysterious puppeteer changes the course of his life in a dramatic turn of events.

The Mediterranean Cycle in Dance closes its program with this performance, a culmination after inviting audiences to journey back to an earlier era through the work of dozens of internationally renowned artists such as Joaquín de Luz, Miguel Ángel Berna, and Antonio Najarro.

The company has toured nationally and internationally.

The Murcian Dance Company, founded in 1995, features a cast of more than 20 dancers and a repertoire that exceeds 15 productions. Its adaptation of Romeo and Juliet into a flamenco ballet, along with a Spanish ballet rendition of Cinderella based on the Charles Perrault tale, highlights the company’s versatility.
