In a discussion with producer Joseph Prigozhin, he claimed that the singer Alla Pugacheva reportedly disclosed tensions among television professionals, including her wife Valeria.
Prigozhin described Pugacheva as a disruptive force and a central decision maker across various projects. He recalled a moment when he approached a project with a clear stance about Valeria’s involvement, saying he did not want Valeria present. According to him, the team then aligned with that preference, removing Valeria from the project and maintaining Alla Pugacheva in the lead role.
Following the start of the military operation in Ukraine, Pugacheva left Russia with her husband Maxim Galkin, who has been designated a foreign agent in the country, along with their children. Reports indicate she subsequently directed public criticism toward her critics and requested that she be added to the list of foreign agents as well, alongside her husband.
On March 28, activist Vitaly Borodin, known for accusing celebrities of various misdeeds, stated that Pugacheva would soon be listed as a foreign agent. He claimed the prosecutor general had forwarded a request to the Ministry of Justice. Dmitry Peskov, the Russian president’s press secretary, said he had not received information about such a development.
Lawyer Sergei Zhorin noted that Borodin may have misinterpreted the document from the Prosecutor General’s Office. He suggested the paperwork did not conclusively indicate that the Ministry of Justice had been directed to initiate any procedure. The interpretation, he argued, rested on an incorrect reading of the correspondence.
In April, Prigozhin criticized Pugacheva for publicly targeting fellow stars who are unable to leave Russia. He argued that her current actions do not reflect her stature and reputation. According to him, Pugacheva’s ongoing criticisms of Russians only bring disappointment rather than any constructive outcome.
There has been earlier speculation about Pugacheva’s status, with public figures like Sobchak expressing doubt that she would be officially recognized as a foreign agent.
