Netflix co-founder Wilmot Reed Hastings stepped down as CEO to take over the company’s chairmanship. The businessman’s letter announcing this, area companies.
“The Board and I believe now is the right time to complete my successor … Going forward, I will serve as Chief Executive Officer of the Board,” the streaming service founder wrote.
The letter also states that COO Greg Peters will assume the role of co-CEO of the company, along with Ted Sarandos, who has been in office since 2020.
Reed Hastings founded Netflix in 1997. In 1991, the businessman founded Pure Software, which creates tools for software developers.
Netflix was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Los Gatos, California. Since 2013, it has been broadcasting its own movies, series and TV programs.
