Rosneft has reached a milestone of producing its 140 millionth ton of oil at the Uvat project in the Tyumen region, marking a major achievement since the start of operations at these fields. The company’s press service confirmed the result and highlighted the sustained momentum across the development of production infrastructure, the opening of new areas, and the integration of modern technologies, including digital solutions that optimize operations and data management.

RN-Uvatneftegaz stands as a key Rosneft subsidiary in the Tyumen region, with a long history of field development dating back to 2001. The subsidiary has been instrumental in delivering a substantial portion of the region’s oil output, contributing to Rosneft’s overall production portfolio and regional energy stability.

Today, the Tyumen region accounts for a significant share of Rosneft’s regional production, underscoring the company’s role as a major energy contributor in Russia. The broader licensed area within the Tyumen region and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug—Yugra spans an expansive tract, exceeding 25 thousand square kilometers. The operating stock includes more than 1.6 thousand wells, and the pipeline network surpasses 1.1 thousand kilometers, reflecting extensive upstream activity and a well-established logistics framework.

The Uvat project employs a strategy centered on single-infrastructure centers, complemented by satellite deposits. This approach enables efficient development of reserves, especially in marshy and hard-to-reach terrains. The result is a connected system where centralized facilities support multiple extraction sites, reducing redundancies and boosting overall project performance.

Currently four centers operate within Uvat: Ust-Tegussky, Protozanovsky, Tyamkinsky, and Kalchinsky. The project includes the construction of two central oil collection points, two oil pump stations, and a network of five chemical and analytical laboratories. These elements together form a cohesive operational backbone designed to improve capture rates, sample quality, and process control across the field base.

Rosneft explains that the unified infrastructure fosters a synergistic effect, enhancing the economic efficiency of field operations. In practical terms, this means better resource allocation, streamlined logistics, and more reliable production planning. As a result, the Uvat complex demonstrates stronger performance indicators and a steadier long-term outlook for oil supply from the region.

Within the current year, the company commissioned a new producing field, the Severo-Nemchinovskoye, and began laying the groundwork for expanding development to the Tavricheskoye field. These steps illustrate Rosneft’s ongoing strategy to grow mature assets while integrating new opportunities into the existing infrastructure network, maintaining a balanced and sustainable growth trajectory across the portfolio.

Geological research and operational renewal have driven renewed oil production at the Uvat project, contributing to a notable uplift in output. The renewal efforts, backed by data-driven exploration and advanced analytics, have helped extend the productive life of the fields and optimize recovery processes across the area.

Today, the Uvat project employs a robust workforce, with more than 2.7 thousand company employees and over 7 thousand contractor personnel contributing to daily operations. This sizable human capital underpins the project’s capacity to sustain production, implement infrastructure upgrades, and maintain high safety and environmental standards across a wide geographic footprint.
