A BMW falls from a shopping center parking deck in Krasnodar: eyewitness accounts and emergency response

An alarming incident occurred when a car plummeted from the third floor of the Galereya shopping center’s parking structure in Krasnodar. Susanna, an eyewitness interviewed by socialbites.ca, said the car nearly struck her friend as it fell. She managed to jump to safety at the last moment after hearing a roar that preceded the collapse.

Susanna described the moment: the vehicle crashed right in front of her friend, who escaped with injuries after leaping away. She ran back and saw a shadow, followed by debris tumbling down. The sequence was rapid and terrifying. At first, a loud roar suggested it came from nearby construction materials. Since the group was not local, they initially assumed a construction site was nearby. Then the outer shell of the car split, and the vehicle fell to the ground. Miraculously, no pedestrians were on the sidewalk, and no one was struck. It appeared that three people inside the car were attempting to perform resuscitation. According to Susanna, the car was severely damaged; the door broke immediately, and men nearby tried to turn the vehicle before deciding to wait for emergency responders.

Maria, another eyewitness, told socialbites.ca that after the fall, men rushed to the car and attempted to break the door to free the driver and passengers. She recalled passing by about 30 to 40 seconds after the crash and noting that no one was on the pavement at that moment. Ten to fifteen seconds after the fall, bystanders began approaching, and the men forced the door open. They were unable to remove the occupant for roughly ten minutes. About fifteen minutes later, firefighters and police arrived. At that point, the door had been opened, but the person inside had not yet been freed.

Local Krasnodar media reported on June 25 that a BMW car had fallen from the third floor of the Galereya shopping center’s parking area. Telegram channel Russia.Kuban quoted police indicating there was a man, a woman, and a child inside the vehicle, all unconscious at the time of the incident.

Witnesses also described a driver from Blagoveshchensk who had reportedly bought the car about a month earlier, highlighting concerns about the vehicle’s history and the events surrounding the fall. Investigators have begun reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses to determine the sequence of events and any contributing factors, including potential structural issues at the parking deck and the exact moment the vehicle left the upper level. Emergency services urged residents and visitors to stay clear of the area while responders work to secure the site and assess safety conditions for nearby structures. While this incident has raised questions about parking facility safety, officials emphasized that investigations are ongoing to provide a clear account of what happened and to prevent similar accidents in the future.
