Igor Sechin, the Chief Executive of Rosneft, briefed President Vladimir Putin on the housing provisions for employees of the Zvezda shipyard and on the living conditions of shifts tied to the Vostok Oil project.

The Zvezda shipbuilding complex stands as the youngest and most advanced shipyard in the nation. The ambitious program has been carried forward since 2016 by a consortium of investors led by Rosneft.

During the president’s tour of the facility, Sechin presented a model depicting seven microdistricts where homes are being constructed for Zvezda workers. He noted that nearly 3,000 flats have already been allocated to employees.

Rosneft has announced plans to develop 80 residential blocks comprising around 5,800 apartments for Zvezda staff. The overall housing development spans 300,000 square meters and is scheduled to unfold over eight years, with social infrastructure forming a key part of the project.

President Putin highlighted the region’s population growth in 2021, pointing out that the Primorsky Region saw migration rising and birth rates above the national average. He stated that continuing to build micro-regions and expanding production infrastructure could sustain these trends.

The Rosneft leader also shared a plan for constructing next generation housing complexes to serve Vostok Oil employees and staff at other Rosneft facilities.

To ensure comfortable conditions for shift workers, the company has established modern residential shift camps that come equipped with essential living and recreation amenities.

Sechin described the arrangements: each worker has access to showers, and meals can be ordered for lunch to simplify daily routines.

Rotational camps are organized like hotel systems, featuring contemporary digital solutions to streamline employee life. The production zones host modern canteens, laundries, shops, and cafeterias, along with sports and fitness centers stocked with current equipment.

Vostok Oil stands as a Rosneft production project located in the northern part of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. A pivotal role in its development is played by the Zvezda shipyard, where vessels are being built to transport oil from the Vostok Oil site via the Northern Sea Route.
