Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan confirmed that Ankara aims to supply 1 million tons of Russian grain to African countries by working with the Russian Federation. This was reported by TASS.
The Turkish leader said, “Much more grain needs to be sent to African countries and countries in need.”
Following the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he announced that it is planned to supply 1 million tons of grain to Africa. According to the Turkish leader, he offered his Russian counterpart to further increase this volume.
At the meetings held at the end of August between the Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and Turkey, Sergei Lavrov and Hakan Fidan, it was discussed to organize the supply of 1 million tons of Russian grain to Turkey at a preferential price with the financial support of Qatar. Putin and Erdogan discussed this issue in Sochi at the beginning of September.
