But is, for example, talking via the speakerphone less dangerous? Let’s also consider the fact that not only the conversation is distracting, but also the fact of the call, as well as the related actions with the phone or the car’s audio system. So what to do when you get an important call and you find yourself in the center of the city in heavy traffic?

About 5% of respondents don’t accept calls at all while driving – they’d rather hang up and call later, no matter how important the matter is. About 10% are those who are still not ashamed of the habit of talking on the phone in “normal mode”. And another 15% also talk on the phone, but turn on the speakerphone on it, that’s more convenient.
The second largest group is those who let the phone ring until the other end hangs up: 22% of readers replied, “I won’t respond, I’ll figure it out later.” In their opinion, of course, the sound of the call is less disturbing than the manipulation of the reset. And here’s the largest group: 46% still use the speakerphone through the car’s audio system.
- Besides, there is one activity that is even more distracting while driving than talking.
