After many major car manufacturers have left Russia due to sanctions, Iranian car manufacturers are taking advantage of the situation and selling part of their products on the Russian market, writes the local newspaper Akharin Khabar.
Among the possible models, journalists from the Iran publication mention Khodro Tara, Dena, Dena Plus and Soren.
According to the sales plan, part of Iran Khodro’s products will be sold in the Russian market in the first half of 2023. As for the details, Iranian journalists refer to Russian media data and promise to check the accuracy of this information later.
In Russia, they believe that although Iranian models are technically quite outdated, they will not be very cheap, the simplest cost at the level of Lada Grants. However, these cars are expected to sell well in the Russian market, which is currently experiencing a shortage of available models.
Of course, in order for people to be more willing to buy such cars, it is necessary to organize enough gas stations in the country, to provide buyers with spare parts and a warranty. Then Iranian cars can compete not only with Russian, but also with Chinese and Korean cars.
Budget Iranian sedans such as Dena Plus, Dena and Soren can be sold on the Russian market at a base price of 750,000 rubles (about 440 million tomans), while the Tara sedan, which is closer to the B+ class, costs from 1 million 120 rubles ( about 660 million tomanov).
So at a price Tara can compete with such cars as Lada Vesta, Kia Rio and Skoda Rapid.
