The Zeekr brand, a Geely-owned Chinese automaker, has released technical details about its upcoming crossover, positioned to rival the Tesla Model Y. This information surfaced through Car NewsChina and other industry outlets.

The model carries the name 7X, highlighting its visual kinship with Zeekr’s 007 sedan, which is already in production. Earlier plans reportedly considered naming the crossover Ark.

With a length of 4825 mm and a wheelbase of 2925 mm, the 7X is slightly larger than its main US rival. It measures 75 mm longer, 10 mm wider, and 32 mm taller than the Tesla Model Y. A distinctive feature is the interactive display integrated into the front fascia, which enhances the cabin experience and driver interaction.

Propulsion is centered around a modern 800-volt architecture. The entry variant of the Zeekr 7X is expected to use a battery capable of an 80 percent charge in roughly 15 minutes, delivering a total range around 500 km. Higher-end configurations will employ a triple-battery system developed in collaboration with CATL, expanding flexibility and performance options.

The powertrain anticipated for the Zeekr 007 lineage, which is likely to be adapted for the 7X, produces about 416 horsepower in rear-wheel-drive form. An all-wheel-drive version purportedly achieves around 636 horsepower. In the Chinese market, pricing is projected to span from roughly 240,000 to 350,000 yuan, equivalent to about 2.9 to 4.2 million rubles at current exchange rates.

Earlier disclosures clarified the scope of consumer spend and ownership costs over a six-month period, outlining the financial commitment associated with acquiring the vehicle in the region where it will launch.

These projections underscore Zeekr’s strategy to blend high-performance capability with rapid charging and a premium interior experience, aiming to offer a compelling alternative to established electric crossovers in North America and beyond. Analysts note the emphasis on 800-volt efficiency, battery versatility through CATL collaborations, and a design language that echoes Zeekr’s current line while introducing distinctive features for the 7X.

Market analysts will watch how the 7X stacks up in real-world range, charging times, and performance against peers in North America, as Zeekr continues its expansion strategy beyond China. The manufacturing approach, supply chain arrangements, and after-sales support will also play crucial roles in determining the model’s reception in the United States and Canada.
