In spring, vehicles were viewed as assets that could appreciate in value, making liquidity a key factor for buyers. The main takeaway for those seeking a quick resale was to target a liquid, three-to-four-year-old car with strong turnover in the market.
Experts from Otkritie Avto and the Haraba marketplace analyzed the premium crossover and SUV segment to identify which models were most in demand in spring 2022. The focus was on those vehicles that could be resold rapidly, with short listing-to-sale times as a practical indicator of market liquidity.
Leading the list was the BMW X3 (G01 generation), known for its brisk resale pace. On average, this crossover commanded a price around 5.635 million rubles and typically sold within about fifteen days from the listing date. In the top tier, two more Bavarian models stood out: the BMW X7 (G07) with an average price near 11.527 million rubles and the BMW X5 (G05), averaging 9.77 million rubles. These figures reflected both brand strength and model appeal in the premium segment during that period.
Rounding out the top five were the Mercedes-Benz GLS, carrying an average price of 5.929 million rubles, and the Toyota Land Cruiser 200, with an average market value of 8.059 million rubles. The Mercedes-Benz S (W222) sedan did not perform as quickly in turnover; on average it required about 31 days to sell, highlighting how market liquidity varied across body styles even within the same luxury tier.
