The Sollers ST6 stands as Russia’s most affordable pickup option, aside from its off-road competitors. This observation comes from the editorial team of Behind the Wheel, with insights attributed to magazine editor Alexander Vinogradov.

Standardly a rear-wheel drive pickup, the ST6 switches to front-wheel drive at speeds up to 15 km/h. Without a center differential, the vehicle cannot sustain all-wheel drive beyond roughly 70 km/h. When the ST6 tackles fresh snow, it does so with notable confidence and maintains traction across the powertrain. Its geometric capabilities are solid: the clearance sits at 200 mm, and the approach and departure angles are favorable, aided by a relatively short rear overhang. A missing feature noted by an automotive expert is a locked rear cross-axle differential, which would further enhance low-traction performance in extreme conditions.

The vehicle is described as domestically oriented due to its production at Sollers’ Far East facility, a site historically used for assembling Mazda models such as the CX-5 and Mazda 6. The ST6 itself was developed from the Chinese JAC T6 platform, with its lineage tracing back to the Toyota Hilux of an earlier generation.

Under the hood, the ST6 is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine delivering 136 horsepower, a powertrain that was also used in the Sollers Argo. Localization of the engine is planned for a production facility in Yelabuga, with the potential for this engine to appear in additional UAZ models in the future.

Pricing for the ST6 varies by configuration, with starting prices around 2.4 million rubles. This places the model in a competitive position within the market while offering a balance of capability and affordability for pickup buyers.

In a separate industry note, Chery previously introduced a Transition model aimed at a specific consumer segment, reflecting ongoing diversification within the regional auto sector.
