In May 2024, Russia recorded 38 new luxury car sales, a figure that marks a 22% drop from the same month a year earlier, according to the analytical agency Avtostat.
Analysts note that, when measured year over year, luxury car registrations declined for the first time in fourteen months. The prior period with a negative trend occurred in March 2023, when sales slid by 42%.
The crown jewels of May 2024 were the Bentley Bentayga, the Lamborghini Urus, and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which occupied the top three spots among luxury models.
Earlier reports also confirmed that Chinese brand Haval continued to lead foreign automakers in May, keeping up its sales momentum in the market.
During May, Haval delivered 14,000 units in Russia, pushing five-month totals to 66.2 thousand vehicles. This represents more than double the volume seen in January–May 2023, and Haval’s market share reached 11.1%.
The most popular Haval model among Russian buyers in May was the Jolion crossover, which moved about 6.4 thousand units. The second runner was the Haval M6, with approximately 2.7 thousand units sold in the month.
What about price movements for other brands in June in the Russian Federation? The market continued to show price adjustments across several models, with some popular luxury choices experiencing reductions compared with May figures, reflecting ongoing competitive dynamics in the segment.
