In May, Chinese brand Haval continued to lead the foreign automaker segment in Russia, according to the analytical agency Avtostat. The brand’s performance underscored its resonance with local buyers and its ability to convert market momentum into sustained sales momentum across the month.
Haval delivered 14,000 vehicle deliveries in May, contributing to a five-month total of 66.2 thousand units. This cumulative figure marks a 2.2-fold increase versus January–May 2023, signaling a meaningful rebound in demand and a strengthening position for the brand in the Russian market. Haval’s overall market share reached 11.1 percent, reflecting its competitive edge among foreign manufacturers and the favorable reception of its SUV lineup in the current market environment.
Within the May sales mix, the Haval Jolion crossover stood out as the most popular model among Russian buyers, with approximately 6,400 units sold. Following closely was the Haval M6, achieving around 2,700 units for the month. The mid-size Haval Dargo also attracted interest; sales for this model in May rose about twofold compared with May of the previous year, totaling roughly 2,000 vehicles in Russia for May 2024. These model-level results illustrate how Haval’s diversified SUV range appealed to a broad spectrum of customers and reinforced the brand’s leadership position in the foreign segment.
