In 2024, the Chinese automaker JAC Motors announced plans to broaden its lineup in Russia with four new models for sale, a move covered by the brand’s press service and analyzed by the automotive data firm Avtostat. The rollout is designed to strengthen JAC’s presence in the Russian market as consumer demand for practical SUVs, versatile crossovers, and modern family vehicles continues to grow. This strategic expansion reflects JAC’s broader approach to expanding in international markets, adapting product offerings to local driving conditions and preferences while leveraging the brand’s global platform engineering.

The JAC T9 chassis pickup is slated to join the Russian market in the first quarter of the upcoming year. In Russia, wheelbase and body length vary by configuration, with overall lengths ranging from 5.3 to 5.6 meters depending on the trim. The powertrain lineup includes a two-liter gasoline engine delivering 231 horsepower, and a diesel option of the same displacement producing 170 horsepower. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations will be available, catering to different driving needs and road conditions across the country. This model portfolio aims to offer robust towing capacity, reliable performance, and modern interior features that appeal to both commercial buyers and family customers who value space and comfort.

In the second quarter, the JAC M4 minivan is expected to debut in Russia. At approximately 5.2 meters in length, the MPV will feature front-wheel drive and a two-liter gasoline engine along with a diesel option, aligning with the region’s demand for practical, multi-passenger transport. Sales of the JAC JS6 Hybrid crossover are planned to begin in the third quarter; this model combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor delivering a combined performance suitable for urban commuting and longer trips, reducing running costs and emissions where possible. The fourth quarter will bring the premium RF8 minivan into the market, expanding JAC’s presence in the high-end family vehicle segment with a focus on comfort, quietness, and advanced technology for passengers.

As of today, the JAC lineup available in Russia already includes the J7 liftback, the JS6 mid-size crossover, the JS3 compact crossover, the T6 and T8 Pro pickups, and the iEV7S electric car. These models provide a broad spectrum of options for Russian customers, from compact city cars to larger utility vehicles and electric mobility solutions. The country’s market has shown receptivity to new JAC offerings as the brand continues to scale its local presence and service network to support a growing customer base. This approach mirrors the broader trend of increased domestic availability of updated and new-age Chinese models in Russia, with emphasis on reliability, value, and a balanced mix of energy-efficient and performance-oriented options.

Earlier in the year, updated Exeed VX crossovers began selling in Russia, signaling a broader openness to new brands and revised product lines that complement the established JAC and other Chinese automotive entries in the market. With the competitive landscape expanding, buyers in Russia and neighboring markets can expect more choices, better after-sales support, and greater access to the latest technology features across a wider price spectrum.
