JAC JS4
In China, the JS4 crossover debuted in 2020 as the Jiayue X4 and is produced under the Sehol brand, a joint venture between JAC and the Volkswagen Group. The starting price in China is about 90,000 yuan, roughly 786,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. A vehicle type approval has appeared in Rosstandart, enabling sales in Russia through both Chinese and Kazakh assembly at the SaryarkaAvtoProm plant.
In Russia, the JS4 features dual headlights with a distinctive LED daytime running light design. Buyers can choose a two-tone body scheme. In dimensions, the JS4 sits in the same class as compact crossovers such as the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Karoq, and Kia Seltos. It measures 4410 mm in length, 1800 mm in width, 1660 mm in height, with a 2620 mm wheelbase. Front seating is standard across all versions, while interiors default to black. Boot space is listed at 520 liters, expanding to 1050 liters with the rear seats folded.
The entry version runs a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engine delivering 118 horsepower and 150 Nm, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Standard equipment features 17-inch alloy wheels, two airbags, air conditioning, stability control, rear parking sensors, a four-speaker audio system with USB and Bluetooth, and fabric upholstery.
Mid-level trims raise passive safety with six airbags, including side airbags, and add a 10.3-inch infotainment display, along with features like an electric sunroof, climate control, and upgraded fabric and trim.
Top variants equip a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 136 horsepower and 200 Nm, connected to either a continuously variable transmission or a manual gearbox. The highest configuration upgrades include all-LED lighting, a digital instrument panel, leather seating, full camera coverage, an electric driver’s seat, and driving aids such as lane-keeping assist and blind-spot monitoring.
JAC JS6
The five-seat JS6 crossover in China launched in 2021 under the Sehol subsidiary. It is priced from about 101.9 thousand yuan, roughly 892,000 rubles. The design features a slightly curved hood, layered lighting, a prominent LED eyebrow and fog lamps, and is larger than the JS4 at 4605x1980x1700 mm with a 2720 mm wheelbase. The JS6 is often compared to the popular Hyundai Tucson among Russian buyers.
The JS6 marks a shift to the MIS Haoxue modular platform, offering independent front and rear suspensions. Chinese experts describe this platform as a cousin to Volkswagen’s MQB family, which underpins models like the Tiguan and Taos. The structure and key nodes are said to be about 90% similar to the German architecture. The JS6 remains front-wheel drive and is offered with a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 184 horsepower and 280 Nm, mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automated transmission.
Inside, the JS6 introduces a central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster integrated into a single panel, with a selector replaced by a drive-mode dial. Voice control is available to operate several vehicle functions. In its domestic market, the JS6 includes a security system with multiple radars and cameras to support adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, emergency braking, and related safety features.
