Images circulated by Telegram channel Mash show the aftermath of a collision involving Yuri Tkachenko, who serves as acting head of the Moscow Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies, and indicates he was injured during the incident.
The clip captures a service van from the Volkswagen line, painted in the fire department’s distinctive color, as it crashes into a metal pillar. The impact mangled the vehicle’s front end, bending the hood and damaging the engine compartment, while the passenger area appears to remain intact.
Mash reports that a senior employee of the Ministry of Emergencies sustained a head injury and a closed fracture to the right hip. The condition of the van’s driver has not been publicly disclosed. The driver, attempting to avoid a collision with a suddenly appearing Kia Picanto, struck a pillar instead.
The events unfolded when emergency responders were en route to a large hotel fire on Mezhdunarodnaya Street in Moscow. Preliminary information indicates the blaze began after a hotel guest set fire to personal belongings in their room, though authorities have yet to release a full account of the sequence of events.
