Last year, the most popular spare parts in the market belonged to widely produced car brands. Parts for Lada vehicles accounted for 15% of all car parts sales on Ozon, followed by Hyundai, Kia and Renault at 4% each, with Nissan, Chevrolet and Ford at 3% apiece. These figures highlight how consumer demand clusters around primary mass-market models that are common on the streets.

For Lada owners, maintenance components, optics, and body parts topped the shopping list. Kia buyers leaned toward ignition components and suspension elements, while Renault owners gravitated toward engine parts. Chevrolet customers showed a stronger interest in electrical equipment. Such patterns reveal how ownership trends translate into concrete purchasing preferences across the Russian market, as reported by Ozon.

In 2022, the category showing the most notable growth was steering parts, with sales up eightfold compared with 2021. Transmission-related parts also remained highly sought after, as many drivers pursued components for CV joints across all Lada models and for CV joint joints and transfer cases. Overall, Ozon noted an 8.5-fold increase in transmission parts year over year, signaling a broad shift toward more complex maintenance needs among owners who keep older vehicles on the road longer.

Beyond these core segments, activity across other part categories surged as well. Ozon’s data indicate several categories that experienced rapid expansion in 2022: body parts grew by more than seven times the 2021 level; systems powering the vehicle’s energy supply expanded by over seven times; car suspensions rose around 6.7-fold; heating and air conditioning systems climbed about 6.3 times; and braking systems increased roughly sixfold. These numbers illustrate a broad, multi-faceted demand across the vehicle ecosystem, driven by a combination of aging fleets, improved vehicle performance expectations, and a growing emphasis on safety and comfort features.

In addition to passenger vehicles, demand for spare parts linked to motorcycles, trailers, and agricultural machinery also rose notably. Engine parts saw a remarkable year-over-year jump, with demand about 12 times higher than the previous year. Within this segment, starter batteries, rear-view mirrors, and repair kits emerged as the most frequently purchased items, underscoring how owners maintain reliability and readiness across a range of mobile and work-focused machines. Furthermore, parts for tractors and specialized agricultural equipment demonstrated a 13-fold growth relative to 2021, reflecting sustained investment in farming and countryside parallel markets.

These shifts collectively point to evolving maintenance priorities and a widening set of consumer interests across vehicle types in the region. Industry observers emphasize that longer ownership cycles, the availability of aftermarket components, and the continued popularity of legacy models all contribute to these growth trajectories. The forthcoming year is expected to see steady demand as drivers prioritize reliability, efficiency, and accessibility of spare parts in everyday life.
