Chery retained its leading position in the Russian market among foreign automakers in August. During the last full month of summer, 13.4 thousand Chery cars were sold in Russia, which marks a 4.5-fold increase over the same period a year earlier, according to analytical agency Avtostat. The growth reflects strong demand for new models, competitive pricing, and an expanding dealer network that has been actively promoting Chery’s lineup across major cities.

The most popular Chery model in August was the Tiggo 7 Pro Max crossover, with sales reaching 6.1 thousand units. The entry price for this model starts at 2.9 million rubles, a figure that places it among the most affordable full-featured crossovers in its class while offering a long list of contemporary features and safety equipment. Close behind was the Tiggo 4 Pro, a compact crossover that sold 3.1 thousand units at a starting price of 2.2 million rubles. Completing the top three was the Tiggo 8 Pro Max, an all-wheel-drive seven-seater, with 1.6 thousand units sold at 4.2 million rubles, highlighting Chery’s emphasis on space, versatility, and an elevated driving experience.

Across eight months of the year, Chery has moved 71.3 thousand vehicles in Russia, a staggering 3.9 times higher than in the same period last year. This surge propelled the brand’s market share from 4.3 percent to 11.8 percent, underscoring a rapid shift in consumer preference toward Chery’s value proposition and the expanding availability of its SUVs and crossovers in showrooms and online platforms.

Looking ahead, Chery plans to introduce the updated Tiggo 8 Pro e+ crossover in Russia by year-end, reinforcing its commitment to electrification and modern connectivity. The e+ variant is expected to combine advanced battery technology with refined interior ergonomics, appealing to customers seeking an all-electric option without sacrificing space or practicality.

In related market analysis, experts previously highlighted Saint Petersburg as a hub for popular car models, noting that demand in that city often serves as a barometer for broader regional trends. The latest data continue to position Saint Petersburg as a key market where brand visibility and after-sales support strongly influence buyer decisions, while nationwide sales show a robust appetite for mid- and high-value crossovers from Chery.
