Most Chinese car brands actively marketing in Russia have rolled out promotions and special offers on 2023 models. Major dealers have also launched stock-clearance events. Discounts and benefits reaching several hundred thousand rubles are being offered on last year’s vehicles.
The Russian market saw price reductions across seven brands in January. A direct benefit from the manufacturer appeared in Moskvich price lists: for example, the liftback with the 6 index dropped by 200 thousand rubles. Moskvich 3 crossovers in the old configuration received a 200 thousand ruble discount, while other versions of the same model were reduced by 100 thousand rubles. BAIC also announced a 100 thousand ruble benefit valid for the U5 Plus sedan and the X35 crossover.
AvtoVAZ followed suit with a price cut: Lada offered a 200 thousand ruble discount on the new Vesta when a loan is taken under a special financing program and an old car is traded in.
Chery and her “daughters”
The Jetour brand announced a bonus of up to 300 thousand rubles when purchasing 2023 Dashing crossovers, with loans available from four partner banks without an initial payment. The program covers all 2023 Dashing configurations, and Jetour notes that buyers can secure a Dashing starting at 2,189,900 rubles under the offer.
The Chery brand reduced the price of the Tiggo 8 crossover, sold in Russia in a single configuration, by 240 thousand rubles. In addition, Chery extended its pre-New Year promotion through February and is including winter tires for Arrizo 8 sedans, hybrid versions of Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8, and the seven-seat Tiggo 8 Pro Max. It also extended promotions on credit purchases and trades, with total price reductions stated from 375 thousand rubles to 1.13 million rubles, depending on the model, through February.
Livan, another Chinese brand, also applied discounts on January purchases. Buyers of the X3 Pro hatchback with increased ground clearance can save 80 thousand rubles, and 100 thousand rubles are offered if the X6 Pro crossover or S6 Pro sedan is purchased.
Exeed and Omoda, brands under Chery, also announced promotions. In addition to standard discounts on loans and trade-ins, Omoda promises a 40 thousand ruble discount when booking an Omoda C5 crossover online, while the S5 sedan saves 20 thousand rubles. Exeed offers benefits ranging from 350 to 500 thousand rubles for LX, TXL, VX, and RX crossovers when trading in a used car, though these benefits apply to premium models only. Furthermore, in January TXL saw a price reduction adding a new advantage of 50–100 thousand rubles, depending on configuration.
Haval and FAW
The Haval brand promotes a direct benefit of 200 thousand rubles for four older trim levels of the popular 2023 Jolion, and 100 thousand rubles for cars produced in 2024. For Haval Dargo crossovers, a 200 thousand ruble discount is offered when an old car is returned to offset the cost of a new one.
The Dongfeng 580 crossover, which returned to the Russian market in 2023, saw two price drops in January, amounting to 101 thousand and 150 thousand rubles respectively. Its price after the reductions stands at 2.5 million rubles.
The FAW brand has launched discounts on all trim levels of the Bestune T77 crossover. It carries a 200 thousand ruble reduction with no extra conditions, bringing the effective price to 2.66 million rubles.
Geely and Changan
The Changan brand has announced additional benefits for buyers. The Uni-K iDD hybrid crossover carries a 200 thousand ruble discount, with the car now starting from around 5 million rubles in Russia. The manufacturer also offers 100 thousand rubles off on the Alsvin and EADO Plus sedans.
Geely promises substantial, exclusive benefits for older versions of the Coolray crossover. The Flagship and Flagship Sports trims enjoy a 155 thousand ruble reduction, the Comfort version 65 thousand rubles, while the basic version is not eligible for this specific benefit. For the Atlas Pro crossover the discount ranges from 80 to 150 thousand rubles, and Geely offers a 50 thousand ruble cut on Coolray and Emgrand sedans when combined with loan programs and old-car trade-ins. The exclusive benefit from Geely works alongside other promotions when fans choose financing or trade-in options.
