AvtoVAZ, the Russian automobile maker, set a production milestone for 2023, aiming for about 374 thousand vehicles by year end, according to a report from RIA Novosti quoting the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The figure marks a decade high for the company’s annual output.
Even amid the challenges posed by external sanctions, AvtoVAZ maintained steady car production. The plan to exceed 374 thousand Ladas demonstrates the brand’s resilience and its ability to keep assembly lines active through varied market conditions through the year.
Company leadership, including President Maxim Sokolov, indicated that the goal to reach around 400 thousand units remained on the table this year. He noted that sanctions had disrupted logistics and financing chains at times, raising the possibility of a downward adjustment of up to 10 percent to the production forecast as the year progressed.
Earlier reports noted a focus on affordable models. AvtoVAZ highlighted four Lada variants priced under 1 million rubles, presenting buyers with options such as the classic SUV Lada Niva Legend, the Granta sedan and liftback, and the Granta Cross as the most accessible choices on the primary market.
In a color update, the end of December saw the Lada Granta lineup gain a metallic coriander finish as part of its palette. The Granta now offers five color choices: white Glacier, Black Panther, deep gray Borneo, silver Platinum, and coriander, a lighter brown hue intended to broaden visual options for customers.
Earlier updates mentioned the arrival of five Lada X-Cross models at Russian dealerships, signaling continued diversification of the brand’s crossover lineup and an expanded selection for buyers seeking practical urban or light-off-road vehicles.
