Alfa Automative Technologies has completed the construction of a new factory dedicated to stamping car body panels from sheet metal and has received the green light to begin operations. This marks the culmination of a major relocation and modernization project for the company, moving production from its former site at AMO ZIL to a purpose-built facility.
Alfa Automative Technologies (AAT) is recognized as a leading Russian producer of stamped body parts, with annual output exceeding 9.5 million spare parts. The company has served a broad customer base, with Renault-Nissan-AvtoVAZ forming its principal client. The CJSC Renault Russia plant accounted for a sizable portion of demand for AAT’s components, while another significant share—roughly 45 to 50 percent—went to AVTOVAZ, underscoring AAT’s role in supporting major automotive programs in the region.
Founded in 2007, AAT originally operated in the ZIL industrial zone. When city authorities decided to reorganize the area, a strategic decision was made to relocate production. In support of this move, the city allocated approximately 36.6 thousand square meters for the new manufacturing site, and the investment in construction surpassed 2.9 billion rubles. This shift positioned the company to upgrade its capabilities and scale operations to meet evolving demand in the Russian market and beyond.)
The revamped facility is designed to produce more than 150 varieties of stamped parts, enabling AAT to supply upwards of 250,000 vehicle sets annually. The expanded production footprint enhances the company’s ability to deliver a diverse mix of components, supporting multiple vehicle configurations and model lines across the region. The capacity expansion also aligns with broader industry goals of increasing localization of foreign-branded vehicles assembled in Russia, reducing dependence on imports for critical body components.
Beyond the production gains, the relocation aims to secure a robust supply chain and stabilize long-term employment for the regional workforce. The project is expected to create meaningful employment opportunities for more than 330 individuals, contributing to local economic resilience and the development of technical skills in metal stamping and automotive manufacturing. This workforce effort complements the modernization of equipment, processes, and quality management systems that accompany such a large-scale upgrade. (Source: Alfa Automative Technologies)
