The price of the Chinese crossover Geely Coolray has increased by 1.5 million rubles in four years since the start of Russian sales. About this reports “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” cites Evgeny Zhitnukhin, head of the dealership department of the Fresh automobile market.
“The Geely Coolray crossover appeared on the Russian market in 2020. In May, sales of the budget version, which at that time cost 1.1 million rubles, started. And at the end of 2022, the model began to be offered from 2.3 million rubles. In October 2023, the updated version of the car already cost 2.6 million rubles,” Zhitnukhin said.
In September 2024, the first-generation crossover will be available for purchase at a price of 2.3 million rubles, and the new model at a price of 2.6 million rubles. Thus, in four years, the price of Geely Coolray has increased by 1.5 million rubles, the expert noted.
Before that, it was known that the most common Chinese car in Russia was the Haval Jolion crossover. As of the middle of this year, there were 116.2 thousand of them in the country, that is, 6.2% of the total number of “Chinese”.
The second most popular crossover was Geely Coolray (82.1 thousand cars, 4.4% share). In third place is Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max with 67.3 thousand units sold and 3.6% share of total Chinese cars. It is followed by Chery Tiggo, Omoda C5, Haval F7, as well as Chery Tiggo 7 Pro and 4 Pro.
The ten most common “Chinese” cars are completed by the Lifan X60 crossover, which has long left the Russian market, and the Great Wall Hover H3 SUV, which is also discontinued. In total, as of July 1, 2024, there are 1.86 million Chinese passenger cars in Russia, which is 4% of the total number of cars in the country.
