BAIC has introduced two new versions of the BJ40 SUV in China. reports Automatic home.

The Tower Champion Edition is designed for off-road enthusiasts. This version features a modified suspension, while ground clearance has been increased by 20 mm. The car also has greater approach and departure angles than the previously offered standard version. The SUV is capable of crossing water obstacles up to 800 mm deep. The SUV is equipped with front and rear independent suspension.

The second new version of the BJ40 is equipped with a 163 hp diesel engine and an eight-speed transmission. The diesel version has a permanent four-wheel drive system, while the petrol version has a plug-in drive system. Options on the BJ40 include lane keeping and traffic sign recognition systems.
