They can start producing cars with internal combustion engines (ICE) at the Motorinvest plant in the Lipetsk region, where Evolute electric cars are assembled. In this respect reports TASS, citing Sergei Mamontov, deputy general director of the enterprise.
“Maybe anything is possible, why not? Since our production is mobile, we can rearm whenever we want and we plan to establish another workshop here. Anything that generates profit; why not?” – Mamontov said in response to the question about the possibility of producing cars with internal combustion engines at the enterprise.
Mamontov refused to discuss the timing of the start of production of cars with internal combustion engines and the model range.
Mamontov said the establishment of small-unit car assembly at the plant will depend on sales volumes and demand for a particular model.
“There’s no point in doing all this because of a hundred, because of a thousand, because of ten thousand,” he noted.
Assembly of electric vehicles under the Evolute brand started in the Lipetsk region in 2022 with the Evolute i-Pro sedan. The i-Joy crossover then entered the plant’s production line. They became them in November 2023 release Another i-Sky crossover.
