Youtube tests a new function that allows you to select the quality of sound separately from video resolution. About it reports Android authority, referring to the data from the code of the last beta version of the application.
Currently, the sound quality on the platform does not depend on the permission of the video: regardless of the choice of 144p or 4K, the sound remains unchanged. However, if we look at the lines of the code, users can adjust the sound quality independently, including different bit speed levels.
It is stated that this function may contain three options: “automatic”, “medium” and “high”. In the first case, the dynamic quality setting is opened depending on the speed of the internet connection. The second installed standard sound quality – probably the opus 128 KBPS format. “High”, as the name implies, offers advanced quality with a higher bit speed.
