If attackers gain access to an account on the State Services portal, the user must immediately contact MFC to change the password and phone number to which SMS codes are sent. After access is restored, you need to cancel all actions of fraudsters, said Izvestia is the founder of data leak intelligence and darknet monitoring service DLBI Ashot Oganesyan.
According to the expert, it is necessary to cancel all the actions of fraudsters both through the portal itself, for example, by canceling the issued electronic signatures, and with the help of a lawyer or even the court, if we are talking about online loans received. or real estate transactions.
The expert noted that in order to prevent such situations, it is important not to transfer the SMS codes received to the phone to anyone and under any circumstances, regardless of the reason for need. Oganesyan emphasized that such a request should itself be perceived as a sign to stop the meeting immediately.
“The situation with lost phone numbers is more complicated. Besides relatively simple situations in which access to the State Services service is tied to a previously used number, there are also complex situations where, for example, there is a forgotten bank account or card, a phone was once connected to it and is now tied to this number. “The bank has launched a confirmation service account for State Services for account holders,” said the expert.
Fraudsters who gain access to such a number can reset their Internet banking password and create a new account with State Services.
The expert advised monitoring bank accounts, immediately closing unnecessary accounts, and also using the same phone number as long as possible to receive SMS codes.
