According to Kazakov, hackers can connect to USB ports in public places, so when a smartphone is connected to such a connector there is a risk of installing malware, stealing personal data and browser data, including passwords.

Additionally, attackers can use a regular charging cable with a built-in USB drive to deliver malicious code or remotely access the device and its data.

Kazakov emphasized the importance of paying attention to charging sources in public places and recommended immediately updating the system by downloading reliable anti-virus programs as well as security patches on your smartphone.
