According to the source, Apple will introduce the iPhone 18 with the A20 chip, which will be produced with TSMC’s 2nm technology, in 2026. The new product will receive a chip created using WMCM technology, which will replace the current InFo technology. This will provide greater flexibility and optimization of communication between the CPU, GPU and other chipset components.
Additionally, it is also credited with increasing the RAM of the smartphone from 8 GB to 12 GB.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo states that chips made using 2nm process technology will only be used in the Pro versions of the iPhone 18 due to their high costs. TSMC is expected to begin mass production of such chips by the end of 2025, and Apple will be the first company to receive them.
The current iPhone 16 and 16 Pro models are equipped with Apple A18 and A18 Pro chips manufactured using a 3-nanometer process. The only chip available for Android smartphones created using 3 nanometer technology is MediaTek Dimensity 9400.
