Russian information security company Doctor Web admitted that its infrastructure was attacked by pro-Ukrainian hackers from the DumpForums group. Related Description appeared on the company’s official website.
“On October 8, 2024, a statement was published in one of the Telegram channels regarding the hacking of our company’s infrastructure. In fact, there was a targeted attack on our resources in September, which we immediately reported by publishing news,” Doctor Web says in its statement.
The attack was stopped in time, the company said. This required disconnecting all corporate resources from the network and thoroughly checking them.
“The original purpose was to demand ransom from our company, but we are not having any discussions with the attackers,” Doctor Web added.
It also appears from the company’s statement that law enforcement is currently investigating the incident. This procedure places restrictions on Doctor Web regarding the disclosure of details of what happened. The company also emphasized that user data was not damaged as a result of the attack.
