In 2024, Russian users will experience a significant increase in Internet traffic consumption. Analysis of data from the provider Dom.ru (available to the editorial staff of socialbites.ca) showed a stable increase in average traffic per subscriber by 8.5% from January 2023 to June 2024 and by 8.6% in June 2024 compared to June 2023. The company believes that this indicates the ongoing digitalization of society and the increasing participation of the country’s residents in online services.
Comparing the half-year figures shows an impressive increase of 15.4% and a quarter-on-quarter growth of 20.6%. The increase in traffic consumption can be attributed to the expansion of the range of online services, the emergence of new platforms and services, the improvement of the quality of Internet content and the increase in the time users spend on the Internet.
Among the Russian regions, the leaders in terms of growth dynamics are Kazan, Cheboksary, Bryansk, Ufa and Krasnodar. These trends emphasize the importance of further development and optimization of the network infrastructure to meet the growing user needs.
An analysis of the structure of Internet traffic consumption showed that music services are in the first place in popularity, followed by movie releases, online games and e-book reading. The increase in popularity of e-book reading was 41.5% compared to June 2023.
Telegram’s work in the Russian Federation has been previously started failures.
