Since the beginning of the year, the number of public transport trips that Russians pay monthly by purchasing Sber has increased from 230 million to 280 million. The director of the State Products and Services department of Sberbank, Petr Dneprovsky, spoke about this at the Digital. Evolution forum.
According to the company’s top manager, 17.5 million passengers in various regions of the country use the cashless payment method in transportation provided by Sber.
Now Russians pay for travel expenses with a single touch using a bank card or phone, and will soon have the opportunity to do so using biometrics.
“This year we are already planning to test payment using biometrics in the metro in some pilot areas,” said Pyotr Dneprovsky.
