Xiaomi has confirmed that it does not plan to simplify the process of disabling ads on its HyperOS and MIUI operating systems. reports Android Authorization portal.
Currently, ads are built into the firmware and branded apps on many Xiaomi devices. Users can disable this, but this requires a series of steps that include manually disabling banners for each service separately. A leak was previously discussed online indicating the possible appearance of a switch to enable and disable ads on all firmware at the same time.
However, in a comment to Android Authority, Xiaomi representatives denied this information. The company said that it is reviewing its business strategy to improve user experience by reducing the number of pre-installed apps and pages with advertising content. According to the manufacturer, these changes will be visible in upcoming flagship devices.
However, Xiaomi has stressed that the changes should be accessible and useful for all users, so there are no plans to offer a single toggle to turn off ads as only a small number of users will use it.
To disable ads on Xiaomi devices, users need to disable the MSA app in the smartphone settings and then manually disable ads in the settings of each system app.
