Cellular operators Beeline and MegaFon stated that their networks are operating normally and YouTube video hosting is available to customers without restrictions. It was announced In response to a request from the publication “Durov Code”.
A MegaFon representative confirmed that the company did not note any changes in the availability of the service. At the same time, representatives of MTS and Tele2 refused to comment on the situation with the stability of YouTube.
Despite this, Beeline and MTS had already begun to warn their subscribers about possible problems with YouTube. However, according to MP Alexander Khinshtein, the “breakdown” of YouTube in Russia affected only the desktop version of the service. On mobile devices, video hosting should continue to work without slowdowns of up to 70%. Therefore, operator warnings may concern home Internet, not mobile.
