In the source code of Telegram for Android, the new Fact Check function (in Russian – fact check) was mentioned, which will help in the fight against fake information. In this respect reports NN channel with link to messaging code on GitHub.
The Fact Check feature allows you to add descriptive information to posts, but it doesn’t work the same way as social network X (formerly Twitter). Unlike X’s Community Ratings, which are created and rated by regular users, Telegram’s Fact Checks will be entirely controlled by the government of a particular country.
For the innovation to work, the government can appoint a responsible body to control posts on Telegram. Ordinary users will not be able to influence the content of the comments after the fact check. The mechanics of how the new function works are not very clear yet.

It has not yet been announced when the innovation will appear on Telegram. Pavel Durov has not yet commented on the Fact Check function.
Previously Microsoft started Co-pilot on Telegram and banned its use in Russia.
