Some new iPad Pros have OLED panels with inaccurate white balance that display the default white color with a rich yellow tint. About this topic said at least two Reddit forum users.
For example, a user under the pseudonym Brdwygurl wrote that she and her boyfriend bought a new iPad Pro with a 13-inch screen diagonal. Its copies contained matrices from different manufacturers. The girl received a version with the wrong white balance and, in her opinion, she really did not like this preset.
“Here are some comparison images. I don’t know if you can see it that well, but in personal comparison the difference is quite noticeable. In the settings you can see that both devices are set to the same maximum brightness,” Brdwygurl wrote.
She said she and her boyfriend tried resetting their tablets to factory settings, but that didn’t fix the problem.
Later, a user with the nickname nick769 wrote that he also encountered this problem. He returned the device to the store.
The launch of the new iPad Pro and iPad Air took place on May 15, 2024.
Incorrect white balance isn’t the only issue users are noticing with iPad Pro displays.
For example, before they reported on the “granularity” of the matrix.
