Reddit forum user under the pseudonym SittingWaves said and showed with photographs what could happen if an iPhone was dropped into the boiling oil of an industrial deep fryer, usually found in the kitchens of fast food restaurants.
According to SittingWaves, a colleague dropped his smartphone into the fryer. Judging by the photos, a careless user has caused exaggerated damage to his iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro.
In the photos, it can be seen that the smartphone screen in the lower right corner is broken. It was not reported whether this was due to deep frying or other reasons. But it is obvious that the screen turns yellow due to high oil temperature. Despite the visual changes, the iPhone remained functional after being removed from the oil, according to SittingWaves.
“Last night my coworker somehow managed to drop her phone into the fryer. Surprisingly, it still mostly works,” SittingWaves wrote.
