Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the acceleration of work on the construction of a new launch pad for the Angara rocket at the Vostochny Cosmodrome. This was reported by RIA News.
This was discussed at a meeting with the head of the Roscosmos state corporation, Yuri Borisov.
Borisov confirmed that the work has been 40% completed to date and noted that Roscosmos is monitoring the progress together with Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin and employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
April 11, heavy class launch vehicle “Angara-A5” started from Vostochny on the third try. Gagarinets launched its satellite into orbit.
The Kremlin congratulated rocket industry workers on the launch occasion. “We all join in the congratulations [в адрес] Our rocket scientists who launched the Angara. We rejoice with them,” said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.
