The cost of the disc drive-less Xbox Series X has not yet been announced. eXputer expects the updated set-top box to cost $50 to $100 less than the regular model.
In September, information about a cylindrical version of the Xbox devoid of a disc drive, codenamed Brooklin, was leaked online. The color of the device was not announced at that time. It was not stated whether the Brooklin and the updated version of the Xbox in the white case are related.
It was also not stated whether this would be the only version of the console, as Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft’s gaming division, previously said in an interview that the company does not plan to give up physical copies of games.
