Canadian medical technology company NuraLogix introduced Anura MagicMirror, a “magic mirror” at CES 2024 that detects symptoms of dozens of diseases based on data obtained by scanning a person’s face and some blood vessels under the skin. In this respect reports CNET publication.
Anura MagicMirror is a desktop device with a 21.5-inch screen, cameras and other sensors. It scans a person’s face and primarily analyzes blood flow. The device uses patented transdermal optical imaging technology to detect facial veins. Machine learning algorithms use data to analyze more than 100 health parameters.
NuraLogix says MagicMirror can provide information about blood pressure, body mass index, heart rate variability, pulse rate, respiratory rate, and age of facial skin. The device can also provide risk assessments for diabetes, heart disease, stroke, hypertension, fatty liver disease and more. The device also offers mental health risk assessment and detects signs of anxiety and depression, for example.
Facial scanning only takes 30 seconds. As a result, the user receives information about potential pathologies.
The release date and cost of the device were not announced. Anura MagicMirror is expected to be used in hospital waiting rooms and nursing homes.
Formerly Invoxia presented A fitness tracker that detects arrhythmia in cats and dogs.
